Exploring the Desktop

The desktop is what you see when your computer first loads Windows.

On the desktop, you will find icons or images that represent  programs or folders found on your computer.  At the bottom of the desktop screen you will see the taskbar. The taskbar will display more program icons as well as any program that you presently have running .  On the right you will find the system tray which displays programs that continually run in the background while you are working.  

 

 
 

Customizing the Desktop.
You can customize your desktop to your liking.  Simply right click anywhere on the desktop, and scroll down to properties.
a window will appear offering several options for changing the way things are displayed on your screen
