This is a rather tragic story of one who is reputed to be one of the most talented composers of all times. He is certainly among the most prolific. Mozart composed operas, sacred music, symphonies, serenades, dance music, concertos, chamber music, and sonatas. As you view this film you will be treated to a feast of some of his well known compositions. Before we begin, however, look in the Dictionary or Music Glossary to find the meanings of the following terms:

14 - Besides telling the story of Mozart, this film also gives us a portrait of another talented, yet little known composer. This man, Salier, finally went insane and had to spend the rest of his life in a mental hospital. Both Mozart and Salier had a tragic flaw (a character trait that leads one to his own downfall or destruction). Identify the tragic flaw of each of them?
15 - The title of this film is "AMADEUS." What does it mean? Do you think it is a fitting title for the film? Why? Why not?
