Process

You and your partner are going to create a book about liberty, but first you have to do a bit of research and analysis.  Follow the steps below to create your freedom book.

First:

View several  Symbols of Liberty of the United States of America.  You will read the inscription, view the picture and then click on the corresponding link to read further information. Using Primary Source Documents may be helpful in understanding these symbols of liberty.

After researching further, you will answer the following questions for each one:

• What does it say?

• What does it mean?

• Why does it matter?

Download and save the template to customize it with your own information and create your book.

Next:

Use the resources provided to find two more symbols of freedom:

• documents

• images  

• songs

Apply the same questions to those you have selected. Include them in your book as well.

Then:

• Give your book a title

• Design a cover and title page

• Write an introduction (revise and proofread as necessary)

• Create a bibliography using proper citation.

Finally:

Collect all of your pages and bind them together.
